A nice Ebay alternative

I purchased an online football price guide from Beckett for $5.99. It's really a great tool to help me build my Cowboy sets. Just enter the player's name and it brings up every card made of them. I have found many raw Emmitt Smith cards I had no idea existed. The cool thing about it is the fact that you click the "shop for this card" button and it brings up a list of all the dealers throughout the country that have that particular card in stock.

I have had nothing but good transactions so far and all my purchases have been raw cards. The cards I have purchased have been listed accurately which always makes it nice. Another good thing is the fact that if you see a card you want, just buy it. No worry of some fool driving up the price or being outbid. the prices are not out of line either.

I'm sure some guys here already know this but to those who don't it might be worth checking out.

Matt

You can just use the My Collection feature and you don't have to pay the $5.99 a month. You can still search everything, you just cannot see the price listing.

I never really checked Beckett stores out because I thought most of the offerings were modern. Do they have a decent selection of vintage football? Any PSA fare over there given the competition between PSA and Beckett?

The Beckett Price Listing is the one you cannot see.

You can't see the book value, i.e. the price that Beckett values the cards at. However, dealers using the Beckett Marketplace (where you've been buying the cards from) can price their cards independently of the book value. What you bought is useful if you want to determine whether a dealer's price is fair or not, but if you can do that yourself then it isn't really worth it.

Looking for Jonny Gomes cards, especially Triple Threads and printing plates. Will consider all cards, though. Got something? Contact me at c_u_l_1@yahoo.com

Actually, you can see the book value if you add the card to "My Collection". It will then show you a value of the collection. It just takes awhile, because you have to then delete it out and add another card to see the value. You could keep them all in there, but you would have to break out the math skills to keep them seperated!!
