I enjoy looking thought the Noble catalogs although I haven't won anything despite what I
thought were aggressive bids. Came across this one today. Noble selling Franklin Mint products??

I don't have a lot of use for the bulk of what the Franklin Mint has sold over the years but I did
pick up this silver map of the world in 1976. What I did not know is the actual silver content of
the thing. Is my math correct? 1500 grams/28.5 grams to the ounce = 52.63 ounces x $14 = $736
(I've never been sure about ounces vs troy ounces and I doubt it's 100% pure silver.) Nevertheless,
this may help explain why 2+ x estimate doesn't win much down under!

Troy oz is 31.1035 grams, troy pound has 10 troy ounces, no idea why.

I think it's 12 troy ounces to the troy pound., so if it's 1500 grams of silver then roughly 48.22 troy ounces and at 14.45 (what silver is right now) it's $696.87 worth of silver. Pretty cool!
