    They're not "specimen" coins per se, just UNCs in a special box. The value of the coins is essentially equal to the melt value of the sovereign plus a few quid. I think I would pay no more than what is being bid right now.

    I second Wybrit on this. These frequently come up and are not special 99.9% of the time. To be technical, there are some precious few VIP proofs from the years up through 1963 but you might as well count these out as a possibility. There may be other VIP proofs up through 1967 but I have not seen them and possibly would know as much as anyone about these proofs.
