How inspirational is that to Yankee fans! Joe says that the Yankees have been stuck on 26 titles for 7 years so that is why he chose #27. I saw the press conference today. As much as I loved Joe Torre as a manager and Donnie Baseball as a player, in my mind the Yankees made the right decision. Joe G is on a mission.
"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

(The idea of him wearing 27, not McDonald's)
play a game. If the going gets tough I think he will be able to take it.
They are going to have to throw insane money at Riveria and Posada if they want to resign now.

I also think that bringing Girardi in as manager helps their chances of bringing back Rivera, Posada, and Pettite. Girardi was Pettite's personal catcher, Posada was Girardi's protege, and he caught Rivera in his earliest days. There is a mutual respect, even as a coach.
If Yanks can bring back all three, its going to make for an interesting season.
Ooooh, he wears #27, that is so cool. Whoop dee damn doo, I'm sure the Sox, Tribe, and Halos are quaking in their boots.

<< <i>The hiring of big mouth Joe is a huge mistake with this Yankee team. It might work out in a few years, but it will be a major disapointment next year and the year after. But, he will be a hit with the fans unitil it becomes obvious that they wouldn't make the play-offs next year >>
<< <i>Personally, I hope the Yankees bring back Posada, Rivera, and Pettitte, all over 35 players whose best baseball is behind them. Hey, why not bring back Paul O'Neill?

this is funny. O'Neill would have at least shown some competitive fire and shown Arod up in at least that department
