Washington Quarter assist...please.

I just picked this on the Bay. 1934 NGC MS65, (old no-line slab) could I get an explanation of heavy vs light frin those that know? I was bored and was looking for Lincolns, I don't do quarters. Thanks, Mike

Looks heavy: corrected, not heavy, not light, just right.

That's a beautiful coin and is what is known as a Medium Motto, which was the most common of the three motto types for the year with perhaps 90% of the 1934 WQs being struck with it.

The light and medium motto quarters havethe center point of the 'W' in 'WE' lower than the outside points. The light motto is visibly lighter- it almost fades into the field...
