4sc, Newenglandsportscards, 4sc_store, 4sc_2????????

So who are these guys? They get brought up so often. No complaints, I've purchased graded items from them with no problem. And, I learned my lesson immediately (like others) when ordering from Newenglandsportscards (never again). But how do they get such good stuff to grade? Their volume is tremendous. They must have a big crew to do so much business. They've got to be PSA's best friend.

One strategy they use that I'm sure others have observed is listing graded cards at SMR, then relisting at a reduce amount with a SMR BIN. I've waited them out on some cards and I think I've gotten some pretty good deals.

Thanks, Tony

What exactly is wrong with ordering from them? From their Ebay auctions they look like they some pretty top notch raw stuff to upgrade or finish sets. In the famous words of Bill O'Reilly, where am I wrong?

I have always wondered how many people are running those Ebay sites?? Wonder where they are buying their raw material??
  • I know that there are several name variations with this seller , is 555 one of their names ? They always have a large volume of decent looking stuff starting at .99. Pretty bad feedback but their supply seems to be unlimited.

Yeah, it appears they submit anything they think is a sure 9, with 10 aspirations. Then sell the decent, but not gem worthy, cards raw. I bet they're owned by a big warehouse like Dave & Adams.

Yeah that is it. They sure have a huge amount of stuff constantly listed.
  • (555) Bought about a 400 ct lot of midgrade 1963 topps off me (all the stars were included) for 1300 bucks and individually listed them the day they hit their door. I kept track of what they sold for and they made a small profit off em, about 300 bucks. They purchased them off me under the ebay name VINTAGE SPORTS CARDS and flipped them under (555.) They paid me quickly, but left me no feedback. I honestly think they make most of their money off what they charge for shipping.

Yeah I can see the shipping making them a profit. Sounds like you had a mediocre transaction. Making the cash is the important thing but their failure to leave you feedback is unprofessional. They always seem to have decent deals but that feedback of theirs is atrocious. The deals have tempted me recently despite the feedback. I was hoping to have someone save me from taking the plunge. Thanks for the reply.

Do a search for (555) on here and you wont see a whole lot of good things said about them.
  • I have purchased a number of raw cards for my 1958 raw set from (555), they are okay if you remember a couple of things, 1)shipping for each additional card is .50 which adds up quickly 2) Their raw cards are usually 1-2 grades lower than what they state in their auction, if you keep this in mind when you place your bid then you can do okay. However, if you are looking at their cards thinking that they are worthy of grading save your money.
  • I'm confused now... Which ebay id's are related???
