Matte Proof Lincolns for the week of 11/02

Well I am sure it will be some time before we see another 1909 VDB Matte comes on the market. Congratulations to the bid winner and we look forward to its arrival on the registry.

This week we have 28 Proofs down from 30 last week. I still can not get over the number that is available. Perhaps there recent price climb have put so many on the market but I can tell you two years ago, a list this long would not have existed, nor would there be TWO 1916s’ available. But that is just this collector’s opinion.

No word yet from PCGS on the Matte Regrades I submitted, but I will keep you posted.

I would think it would be just the opposite. With the prices seen lately, I would think that 09 VDB MPL's would be coming out of the woodwork!!!

Exactly. The only question for a seller is when to put one up for auction between now and 2009. Pressure is building on MPL's and I don't think we are at the top yet. MPL's are the rarest group of the most popular series to collect, and are the "keys" to collecting a complete set.

Brother, if I wrote a check for that thing there wouldn't be any lawn to mow or windows to wash. I guess you could wipe down the bars in my cell though. I imagine my future would be pretty well mapped out for the next 10 or so years.
