1880-S Morgan mint mark and VAM questions

    Yes and yes. The mint mark is a large type IV , which is common for the date. The only VAMs for the date that bear a premium are VAMs 8 through 11, all being 80/79 overdates, and only VAM-10 being really significant. There are plenty of VAMs exhibiting date digit doubling for all mints for 1880. 1880-S is generally not a date where veyr tough, high premium, VAMs are to be found.
