I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
what and where are the four diamonds located when people talk about grade?.
Yes, it's betwen the neck and lower hair curl.
It's been a few years since people have use the diamonds for grading.
4 full diamonds used to be the definition for XF.
I use it for my definition of a choice XF (XF-45), but the new ANA grading guide (and the TPG's) have all but thrown out anything that specific for grading. I don't agree with it, and when I use tighter grading than ANA (new) standards, my coins look very overpriced to grey sheet buyers. The coins sell to collectors that know the difference, though.
