Looks there are two more "rare" cards that Topps has included. Your Yankee set won't be complete without this integral part of the team (card number is SQ1):
There's also a UH100 variation - listed as Abraham Nunez on the checklist, but this one is supposed to be super SPed:
Here's a pic of the Jobas that 1989FBRc mentioned:
I have also seen a Joba with the Astros as the team name on the front.I pulled the squirrel card today and my friend pulled an Ellsbury.Good day to say the least.
I was kind of surprised with this Chamberlain business. I bought a Jumbo box today and got two copper cards, one of them Chamberlain. I have to go check to see what it is, left handed, Astros, etc. Either way, might have taken a sting out of the purchase price of the box. That and a printing plate.
Rare Checklist Variants Discovered in Topps Update Oct 31 2007 2:12PM
Beckett Baseball Price Guide Editor, Brian Fleischer is reporting that New York dealer Ted Straka, of TNT Sportscards, has discovered two previously unannounced cards in the recently released 2007 Topps Update product.
The preliminary checklist catalogs card #100 as Philadelphia Phillies third basemen Abraham Nunez. While Nunez is indeed card #100, Straka pulled a Jacoby Ellsbury card featuring the MLBPA Rookie Logo which is also card #100.
In addition, Straka pulled a "Poley Walnuts" card #SQ1 featuring the squirrel that became famous for routinely appearing on the Yankee Stadium right field foul pole throughout the 2007 season.
Both cards appear to be extremely difficult pulls, with odds possibly comparable to the 2006 Topps shortprint releases of Alay Soler, card #RC1 and the infamous Alex Gordon release, card #297.
To date, Straka and his team of employees have busted 10 hobby and 10 jumbo cases and have only pulled one example of each card.
Do baseball cards have anything to do with baseball anymore? If you guys keep buying this crap, they're gonna keep making it. That's all I'm gonna say.
IROD All Star Game jersey card Clemens 1st Edition (why don't they # these?) Bonds HR 756 card Cardinals World Series Watch 9 gold (none great) bunch of good rookie red backs no doubles at all with the reg set
I just ripped a hobby box, thought I did pretty well: Victor Martinez GU All star Jersey Joba (not the reverse) Lots of other rookies, didn't get the damn squirrel though.
