Those would be futures. I've got just a few more hours for my prediction of $800 spot gold by the end of the month to be correct. Doesn't look good. So my track record for predictions here on the forum will go to 0 for 1. Remember that if you read any of my other opinions. --Jerry

I am amazed at Gold prices, I just purchased a bunch of gold coins (cleaned in ANACS holders) from another board member. I never expected the prices to jump in a week but who know where they will be next week.
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

  • The real story should be why silver isn't at $25 plus....15% + VAT tax on silver bullion but not gold bullion
in Eropean market. Big drag on silver and a big boost for gold. Something is wrong with the market.

Speaking of Drudge, I see that Harry Reid as well as the House Dems are blaming global warming for the Cal fires on the same day that it's proven to be arson. Ouch.

FWIW, silver is pretty close to breaking out. Also, from the August lows (around $11), silver is actually outperforming gold.

Well, I guess now, they can blame the fires for global warming. image

Might as well blame inflation and the gold/oil price on the fires too.

$800 in 2007 doesn't have quite the buying power $800 did in 1980. That is the real story. We have a way to go before we are in record territory and we should get there with patience.

See, If we all bought 1000 ounces of gold,

a year ago, we would all be in the money now.

How true that is, Bear. Buying rare coins perhaps wasn't as good. Still can't beat cherrypicking $1000 coins for $30. Gold has a LONG way to beat that. Of course liquidity is a totally different issue.
