New Reeded Edge Bust Half

I recently bought this reeded edge half. I think the obverse is a nice AU. The obverse appears to be from a new die and the strike is terrific. There are a few hairlines visible but they seem to be more from mishandleing than cleaning. The reverse seems to be from a different coin. The center shows little wear but there is a die crack from six o'clock to ten, badly clashed and the word STATES nearly polished off. Can this still be called AU or would it be down graded because of the weak lettering? Did the reeded edge halves get Overton numbers if so anyone know which one this is? Any other comments welcome.

Apears a little washed out but GREAT detail! image Odd reverse.

overton varieites are not applicable to r.e. halves.

your coin looks high xf-ish to me, but i like despite the mild hairlines

    good job!

RE halves use Reiver numbers for those who are inclined to attribute them. The Heritage website now hosts the Reiver VIM for RE halves and you can search through it for free. Be aware, however, that the VIM is very difficult to use and contains no images. Relatively few folks attribute their RE halves.

you will occasionally come across "beistle numbers" as well, which was a attempt around the late 1920s to list r.e. varieties, but the reiver numbers are more current
