Photo software Question

I know this has been asked before but I can't seem to find it.
What software does everyone us to cut out round holes?
I just want to cut the coin out and change the background. Is there a cheap program you can use to do this with out having to buy an Expensive one?

photoshop elements....buy the oem version on EBAY....exact software sold in retail stores & half the price

In photoshop elememts 5 you can also note the size of the image when you resize it....lets say 4", then when you chose elliptical marquee, at the top set the size the same, left click in the box with coin pic then drag the circle where you want it. Crop, then copy that image. Create a new file, set the size at 4" again, chose transparent background. Right click on this new "checker board" image and select paste. Do the same thing to the reverse. Create another new box that is a little higher than 4" a little wider than 8", select background color. You can drag you other 2 images onto this box, use the move tool to position them like you want, then use the crop tool a final time to get the exact size you want. Then merge the layers and save as a jpg image. I also save the coin images in photoshop format so that I can quickly use them again on a different colored background. If you google photoshop elements 5 you can find the oem version for around $40.
