Would you believe there was an NFL player named CHARLIE BROWN, and a Super Bowl champ at that???

No joke! I was looking through my new football card sets and I couldn't believe there was actually a football player named Charlie Brown. Not only that, but he was a Super Bowl champ as well, helping the Redskins win Super Bowl XVII. Check it out:

Charlie Brown Wikipedia article

Obviously he was not a kicker. image But still, could you imagine before he made it to the NFL all the teasing and comparisions to the Charlie Brown from the Peanuts comics? Good grief!

I meant more the irony of the name. You know, how the Peanuts' Charlie Brown tries to kick the football but Lucy always pulls it away?

He'd better be after he helped win a Super Bowl in his rookie season! image But seriously, I'm just starting with my football card run so unlike the baseball card runs, I'm not familiar with nearly as many players, especially during 1983-91 (my current run; I want to get at least 1980-99).
