help w/japanese coin

Recently received a grade of MS-67 1877 for a 5 sen coin I sent in. PCGS listed it as a Meji 10. Looking in Krause I noticed there are 2 different types of 1877 5 sen and within each type there is a type 1 and type 2. I don't have the coin back yet but can anyone give me characteristics of what to look for to determine which it is when it arrives?

    Check the characters in the red circles below. On Type 1s, the two characters are not connected, on Type 2s, they are.
