“Your auction consignment will be well marketed”—what exactly does this mean?
I was taking a look at some of the websites of auction firms, on the outside chance that I wanted to auction some of my excessively rare coins. On one site, one of the selling points of the firm was that “your auction consignment will be well marketed”. Does anyone know what this means? Are there different types of marketing that are done for certain auctions? I always assumed that the standard advertisements were placed in NN and CW, catalogs were sent to active (and sometimes inactive) bidders on the firm’s mailing list, perhaps a glossy is sent in the mail touting the sale, etc.
Is there anything that one firm does regarding marketing that is significantly different from any other firm?

Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."

Ah, your consignment will be given a good spit-and-polish cleaning, and the marketer will be wearing a tutu and feather boa. You will receive your check as the money comes in, one dollar at a time.
