Lincoln cent-mint error?

I found this 1942D Lincoln in some rolls I was going through. It caught my eye right away because it was smaller than the rest. It is missing its collar/rim. It is perfectly round (except for some edge dings, which appear due to heavy handling/circulation) which makes me think it wasn't cut or filed by hand. It is the same size as the field of a 'normal' cent, just missing the rim. I have attached a pic but I'm not sure how much you can tell from my crappy pic. Has anyone heard of a missing collar mint error or do you think this is post mint manipulation?

Looks like post mint damage to me.

It was altered outside the mint. The absence of metal flow in peripheral design elements, the perfect centering, and the presence of a thin remnant of the design rim are all red flags.
