EDITED TO SAY: The second one is not that great either.
The above is just my two cents worth.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
but hopefully that time where i find that one will come...many thanx

<< <i>Quite honestly, I'd avoid this date all together. The 95-O is way overrated and overpriced in all circ grades, except maybe AU58. >>
That and the 84-S....unless either is AU PL.

is almost always a sign of polishing.
both coins are junk to me. 10-15 dollars and i do not care if it
is a "better date".

<< <i>The overall "look" of the second coin is better by far, but it appears you have little knowledge of the series or how to grade/tell if coins are tampered with. Given that information, and the fact the mintage on this date and mint mark is only 450,000 coins, I would suggest you purchase one already graded and slabbed by a reputable third party grading firm. If you hold out for a while, you will find a nice one at a very fair price.

I'm a YN myself, 1 year +. I have a decent grading eye, well decent for me. For example. a fast continuous scroll of the first coint tells me: the reverse strike is week(hence the chest{now I returned},not just weak, this is wear. The wings make the coin appear AU), Lots of contact marks in the fields as well as the obverse, again a weak strike and or wear. My original guess was a 61, now I say AU58/55. As for polished, cleaning and tampering I'd like to know how to know I assume the polish puts luster on it, looking at the rise in letters you see a milky shadow all around each. Is this the identity of polish?
<< <i>gotcha i will keep that in mind...reason why i ask about "raw" coins well slabbed usually get out bid before i can blink
but hopefully that time where i find that one will come...many thanx

If Morgans are your thing, Paul, I suggest as much reading and viewing as you can. Morgans are not tough to grade. When I say "view" I dont mean eBay, I mean CIH(coin in hand), shows, shops and so on.
