1954 Bowman card size question

I have started a '54 Bowman baseball set and have a question about the size of the cards. I know the cards are supposed to be 3.75" x 2.5". The cards that I have gotten so far are all exactly 2.5" across but their height is all over the place. Some of them are 1/16 too short and some are 1/16 too high. None of them look to be trimmed and I would never send them in to get graded so I'm not worried about a minimum height for that. I guess my question is what you guys find acceptable in your sets. Do they all have to be uniform in height or is some variance okay? And is this a common occurance with this and other early Bowman sets? Thanks.
