What will a 250d macro lens do for my A570?

A question for the photo experts from a photo dummy
My A570 will focus in Macro mode at about 4cm at full wide angle, and at 30cm at full 4x telephoto
If I add on a macro lens such as the Canon 250d, what will that get me?
The ability to focus at wide angle closer than 4cm?
The ability to focus at full zoom at closer than 25cm?
Some sort of effective magnification at the current minimum zoom distance of 25cm?
Thanks to any and all for their help

Yes.

Yes, and this is what you'll really want.

No.
I assume the 250D is a screw-on close-up lens. If so, price it against buying a screw-on filter adapter (if available) plus someone else's +2 close-up lens. This will also enable you to buy a third-party circular polarizer for probably less money than a special Canon polarizer dedicated for your camera.

The ability to focus full zoom at closer than 25cm is what I'd be looking for, so that's good. And what the 250d is is a screw on lens add-on that goes along with Canon's lens adapter. Would I be able to add on other 3rd party filters to that lens adapter?
