Whenever LordM goes yeti (as he seems to be now)

Whenever LordM goes Yeti
I think of him trudging
over hills and dales
and burns and swales.

Gleaming detector in hand,
like a mighty knight of old
who with his deadly lance
tempts both fate and chance.

What of the danger
as he edges forward,
for concealed in creeping fog
lies the treacherous, viscous bog.

Sucking, absorbing,
drawing him downward.
Yet, he wrenches forth,
his demeanor wroth.

I believe one day his lance
will fell a mighty foe;
perhaps a draped bust cent
or silver crown of long ago.

So, when that day arrives,
we will launch a mighty cheer,
and strive to help our comrade
quench his thirst with wine and beer.image

Wine and beer is superb, but not when you mix 'em image

No wine and beer fer me, thanks- I'm a teetotaller. The only beer I touch is the occasional root beer. Iced tea's my bev of choice.

As I said over on the MD forum (which you were right to post on- I reappeared there first), I am completely flattered to have been the subject of a composition by the Darkside Poet Laureate himself, and if I could fit that ditty in my sigline, I'd probably flaunt it there for a time!

Let me see if I have this right...

    "So, when that day arrives
we'll sit down amid much glee,
    and help our comrade consume
his lunch of crumpets and tea."

Hmmm.... may not have the same ring to it.image

    Excellent!

Surely someone clever with the photo programs can make a suitable sig-line icon perhaps along the line of "Subject of Laurent's Lyrics" , possibly featuring his avatar?

    Crumpets sound good.

Can't recall if I ever had any or not. Think so- they're kinda croissantlike, ain't they? When we first arrived in Tanzania during my childhood, we stayed in this swanky British hotel, briefly. The Stanley And Livingstone.

Actually, no. I think we just went there for high tea once, or something. They did the tea and crumpets thing. It's where I first had Earl Grey tea, which is the daddy of the tea world as far as I'm concerned.

In gratitude for your creativity, I will let you look at pictures I took while playing with my wife's big pair of melons this morning..

    Enjoy. image
