I was a little perturbed on Saturday.........

Some of you may have seen the post of the handful of 59's I put up on Saturday, and a couple of touchy responses by me. Well, there's a reason for that. The 59's were from a group of about 30 I bought. I put those in card savers, but the shop guy didn't have any more for the other 25 or so and I didn't want to buy any. So he put them in a plastic case.

I made it all the way home with them until I walked in the front door, and bag they were in slipped out of my hand and fell on the slate floor. Bent the lower left corner on almost every single card in the case. I was FURIOUS with myself.

Most suffered minimal damage and I've put a few in screwdowns to flatten the corner back out with good results, but I am still peeved to no end about this. These cards were beautiful and my idiocy damaged them. AAAAARRRRGH. Fortunately the ones in card savers were unscathed.

Now you know the rest of the story.

  • Good day,
You could do a whole thread on when we've all done like this. Like the time a spent a bunch a money on some primo Non Sport at a Shop. Then proceeded a couple of stops later to jump in my truck and land on the bag, crushing the Holders and ruining abot 3/4 worth of them.

Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!

I was sorting out some cards to submit. Had a gorgeous Bobby Shantz 1960 Topps, possible 9-10 material. As I was checking the gloss under the lamp it slipped out of my hand and landed on the desk right on the corner.

I don't know why cards never fall flat.

I didn't read the thread Ron but I still think you're a good guy.

I damaged a card taking it out of a holder - I was trying to do 2 things at one time. Very stupid and costly.

Part of the hobby I guess.
