I think we all agree that Tim McCarver is an idiot and a horrible announcer, but I think he topped himself tonight.
Not an exact quote but something to the effect of "...and the amazing thing about Hank Aaron is that if you take away the 755 home runs, he still has 3771 hits..."
Uh, admittedly I went to Oakland Public Schools, one of the worst school systems in the country, but if I recall basic math, 3771-755 = 3016.

One of my favorite statistics of all-time. That, and the fact that you can take any baseball player in MLB history, add 180 home runs to his career totals, and Hank would still be the all-time leader in total bases. The man was amazing.
BTW, if you took away Rose and Cobb's HRs, they would still have over 4000 hits. Here's an interesting list.
rank name Hits HR Hits-HR
1 Pete Rose 4256 160 4096
2 Ty Cobb 4189 117 4072
3 Tris Speaker 3514 117 3397
4 Cap Anson 3418 97 3321
5 Honus Wagner 3415 101 3314
6 Eddie Collins 3315 47 3268
7 Nap Lajoie 3242 83 3159
8 Stan Musial 3630 475 3155
9 Paul Molitor 3319 234 3085
10 Paul Waner 3152 113 3039
11 Hank Aaron 3771 755 3016
12 Tony Gwynn 3141 135 3006

I think Tim is writing a book called--"Useless quotes to use at parties!!"
'Mariano Rivera says that Ortiz used to have 'holes' inside that you could pitch to....Ortiz doesn't have those 'holes' anymore'.
