thumbs up for vette1986 (ebay seller)

vette1986 is an ebay seller, i contacted him earlier this month regarding a coin he had listed that was a fake, i didnt threaten to report him, i just advised him that the coin he was selling was fake and suggested he take a closer look at it, he promptly removed the listing and thanked me for bringing it to his attention, i have bid on several of his listings but always get sniped, anyway, i just wanted to give this guy a pat on the back, he could have easily dismissed me as a bidder trying to get a deal or whatever, instead he took the time to listen, and seemed genuinely appreciative. anyway, i dont know the guy but from this incident i feel i can trust him, so in a world of ebay bashing, feel somewhat confident that he is one of the good guys.

    thumbs up too!!

I have purchased a few items from him and just recently a package he sent me was quite late arriving in the mail. I was concerned about it so I emailed him and he said "don't worry, if it doesn't arrive, I'll refund your money (about $100)". I thought this was very nice, so I replied to him "I think it's proper that if it doesn't arrive, only refund me half the amount (since this is fair as the buyer and seller would each be out half).. Anyways, to make a long story short, package did arrive to me safely, but it was still nice that he offered me a full refund.

Why split the refund, didn't you add mail insurance to the package?

Insurance is irrelevant. The question is, who it responsible for the package in transit. Most of us here believe it is the seller. Until it is delivered, it is the seller's loss if lost. this poster is willing to split the responsibility. Good for him. --Jerry
