Need some help on pricing 1891-CC VAM 3

I was at the local coin show this morning and found a 1891-CC VAM 3 (spitting eagle) in an old rattler graded 63. Now there is no question in my mind or dealer's (long time friend) that its a 64. I am looking to offer him a price, but I have no desire at this point to resubmit it out of the rattler for an upgrade. The coin is original, no toning, nicely struck and the only distraction is a hit on the lips which is distracting at 5X but not noticeable otherwise. I am buying to keep in my VAM collection and not for resale. He had two others in 63, NGC and PCI but this was a far better coin.
Question is what should I offer him for it, he has an $850 sticker on it but price is negotiable. BTW its on hold for me for 60 days. I am out of my knowledge-league on this one. What do you guys think?
Edited to add: I picked up a nice 55 mint set in the original mailing envelope.

And if you ever want to have fun at a show, look at 10 or more 1891-CCs during the course of the show. If even half of them are not Spitting Eagles it will be unusual.
