It looks like they have. That would be a ton of work for completed auctions but I just checked a couple and each had the full size coin image and two more photos that looked like they used to be slab photos but don't show the label. I wonder if this is an agreement with ebay and in concert with the ebay slab photo requirement to keep people from stealing slab photos from heritage for bogus auctions?

That is the understatement of the year! I cant believe this was done by manual labor. That would be monumental! Yet, i can't concieve of how it could be done any other way.

I'm sure they have their reasons, but this has to be a negative to collectors...especially those who collect popular Federal series and moderns that can look so much alike.
The serial numbers are still shown in My Collection. That means there is now two sets of images - one for the My Collection set and one for the Auction Archive set. That is a huge amount of disk space. Must be one heck of a reason for such an effort and expense.

I was as surprised to see this as you were. This is not working as intended, and we will fix it. Archive images of coins in slabs should always show the cert number.

It might be in support for eBay's new policies so slab photos can't be taken from there as easily. They do have a relationship with them , through eBay Live, and might have done it to get better terms going forward.

Luckily I had the certs in my records.
