Question on Full Step Jeffersons

tydyetydye Posts: 3,894 ✭✭✭
I am looking through some unc jeff rolls from the 60s-80s. Hoping for full steps on some of the harder dates. Nothing yet but I have found some 3-4 step ones. Should I keep these separate or just throw them back in the roll. The 70-Ds that I have are really gorgeous. Almost prooflike with golden toning. I found about 5 1970-Ds that have a good amount of steps. One is 4+.
Thanks for your time

  • I believe you need 5 or 6 steps for the FS designation, but you might edit your title to Full Step since the Jeff guess can miss this thinking First Spouse.

  • tydye, there will be no premium placed on "almost FS". Like Full Head, Full Bands, & Full Bell Lines it's all or nothing.

Thanks - I kind of thought it was all or nothing but just wanted to make sure.

I've seen some NGC Full Step designations that were almost invisible. They are very generous with that designation, or at least those Jeffs submitted by the big aution houses.

I'd be interested in seeing these 70-D's to give you my thoughts... Depending on strike, there are some who would pay a premium for well struck coins with almost full steps.
