statistical anomaly

Isn't it amazing how much more frequently people have "family emergencies" when they owe you money?
I guess it's just an awesome coincidence, though.....because all people are good and honest. <cough cough>
Surely a good person would never use a sick child as an excuse to delay a payment? Because that would just be a sociopathic thing to do, right?
<sigh>
5 out of my last 37 sales......family health emergencies.......
Why can't just one person send me an email that says:
"Sorry man, I have to wait for my last paycheck to clear because I'm buying baseball cards when I can't even pay my bills."
or "If I pay you today via Paypal, my wife will notice. If I get a money order and send it to you in four days, I'll get away with spending this money."
or "Crap. I forgot to send it. Sorry. I'll take care of it right now."
I would be fine with any of those explanations. I'm a big fan of honesty.
.....not to imply that any of those "family emergencies" were lies. Surely they all happened. And I hope the kids are all happy and healthy.
<BIG SIGH>

<< <i>I don't want a pity party if the deal goes badly for me. >>
Fascinating that you'd interpret it that way, though.
