I'd say it has a shot..... this clemens below made it in a 9 holder with a pretty bad print defect. "by the way not my card passadinamudslide posted it in a thread the other day.
I think SGC hit it on the head with the grade of 8.5. Probably good enough to be a 9 but not quite a 9 due to print spots. That is why I love the half grade.
SGC's half point system is their way of eliminating the individual card graders "Eye Appeal" judgement call which must be made by a PSA grader when deciding weather a beautiful card such as this is best suited in a PSA8 or PSA 9 holder. I'm not saying that one is better than the other but the PSA grader defintely has more pressure on him to make a judgement call and with the vintage market that PSA 9 grade is significant to the cards value as we all know.

I agree. as a side note that big old pink dot on the upper left of the clemens is so distracting
you almost miss that big one on his neck too.
