I like his seller ID. i-sold-it is a franchise. They always have the store number at the end of i-sold-it for the ebay ID. This guy doesn't. He planned a scam from the start.

Too easy to steal on ebay, but again if you're not looking for that deal that's too good to be true, and overlooking the red flags you might get burned.

I tried to report to ebay, they said there is no process to stop the auction before it ends in 2 hours. I asked for an emailed transcript that I will share with the winning bidder in a few weeks.

  • looks like he bought a lot of mid to high grade commons... repacked em.
  • there was a similar thread on such a scam run by this seller or others. it was earlier this year.

what bothers me about it is that a buyer will believe the lie: "AND WHO KNOWS MAYBE A MINT MICKEY MANTLE OR WILLIE MAYS HIDES BEHIND THOSE TOP THREE CARDS!!!" the seller is very unlikely to put a mantle or mays in the created rack pack. the packs simply have commons in them. and those commons could be trimmed, could be in just VG shape. the only guarantee the buyer has is that the 9 cards are authentic. (though who knows what authentic means.) by adding that a Mays or Mantle may be in the rack pack, the seller is definitely frauding a buyer.

Again, ebay allows this scam to go on, but put an extra word in your listing and they will pull it like Debbie pulls out Mr Winky.

Although, the buyers of this auction again are the same ones/types that fall for junk like this over and over again.....the ones who think there's an easy way to make money.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I like the fact that E-bay chooses to protect the bidders identity but not thier pocketbook.image

Just pathetic beyond words. And isn't listing "Mickey Mantle" in the title considered keyword spamming, and the auction is supposed to be removed? I mean the odds of there being a Mantle in that pack are 0.
  • Did Topps ever release such a product? I'm completely ignorant about unopened vintage packs. If I'm going to spend big $$$ on cards I want to know exactly what I'm getting. I just always assumed most old "unopened" packs were opened and resealed.
