World's Greatest Card Chase

Just bought a few of these boxes at walmart. just going to post and see if anything neat comes up. Has anyone had any fun with these? They seem fun and are only 20 bucks. here goes.....and by the way I sure hope we can keep this message board nice and clean unlike the other thread with the "huge find" that had innappropriate pictures. Dirty pics will only destroy the soul. Beware beware my friends. Ok i'm starting to rip.

i got some boxes of the 52 find the pack for 99cents of computer last year, garbage
  • I have bought 4 of those and pulled 2 1984 Topps Packs, 1 1983 and one with an 85 and 86 pack in it.
  • I bought one ... L-A-M-E!
  • ripoff.
  • best card i pulled was a '94 jeter acetates minor league card. $15. other than that, NOTHING!! it was a brilliant idea to get rid of old garbage commons though...and they're usually damaged in some way. my last box i had a pack of movie cards from the movie "eight men out". it really was my last box...

put down your bible dude, the other thread had stuff worth looking at, not overproduced junk.
  • I kind of like the pin-up!
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

  • Hey guys, let's stop beatin up on each other here. The most important part is if he likes what he pulled from the box then I should be happy for him. Regardless how you feel about nudity, I'm glad to see that everyone is finding things that they like.
  • You are on to something: They should put pin-ups in blaster boxes.

$20 for $9 (at most) worth of packs? We shouldn't encourage rip-offs and scams, no more than we do on eBay.
  • Well, I finished ripping those boxes. Had three altogether and nothing serious of note but man did it bring back memories. My era was the 88 and 89 packs (too bad for me) and I remember trying to pull Griffeys and Frank Thomas cards all the time with little success. I was able to pull 4 Griffeys from the 1990 donruss packs ( cheap I know but I could never find one as a kid!) and a Frank Thomas Barons rookie card pretty sweet. I enjoyed the rips and excitement. BUT a true rip off. Thanks for all your posts. --My Bible will never come down by the way.--

No need for him to put the Bible down. 1) that won't do any good. 2) he's right. 3) everyone needs to hear the truth, and be encouraged (whether they realize they need it or not). It was a good thing he said what he said.

...yet for some reason, you felt the need to insult the merit of his post, and defend the post with questionable material in it....

sorry you bought into it, i did once, that did it for me
  • ok. Here are the high lights from three boxes of the Chase cards... wouldn't recommend buying them by the way. Maybe a box or two but that's it. Unless you get the thrill of childhood memories then by all means knock your socks off. These are a few scans. The better PSA quality items are listing individually.

  • Hey guys. Just a couple of thoughts. Why is that it's okay to share how you feel about politics, other religions, and many many other things on here, but if one person says anything about God or The Bible we take offense to it? I thought when the dudes came over here to start our country that they wanted to give us the opportunity to speak what we want about whatever we desire. Sadly it's been taken a bit too far. But I don't understand why you guys would heckle someone who believes something. I think it's pretty childish myself. I mean, everyone believes in something. But I just don't get it. It's okay to believe in anything other than the God of the bible here. Well, I'll be the third to say that I'm a Christian. I do and say things and then go back on them by my actions. We all do. The Good News is that I have something that keeps me going when I don't want to anymore. What's wrong with that? Why is that a waste of time. I honestly think drinking too much is a waste of time, but I don't get on here and condemn anyone for that. It's your life.
To wrap it up, let's hold up on the judgement all around. I will say this, more marriages fall a part because of infedelity in this country than anything else. And usually infedelity starts in the heart with small things. Goodnight all and congrats Red Sox. <><
  • geez welcome to religion chat.
the other thread is still way more interesting. and that pinup photo and those freak shots are great americana.

I always wonder why religion makes folks so uptight and prudish about the human body? hmm.
  • Hey, I'm sitting here naked right now. I'm not uptight about my nudity. I mean the Tribe lost, I went a little crazy tonight. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now it's getting a little cold. All joking aside. All I was saying was that I don't understand why someone can't speak their opinion about something like that without getting beat up over it. That's all. I mean, if people want to look at bo*bies and what not, not my life. It's just some have choosen not to do that for whatever reason and I think it's okay to believe in God. That's all.

Boba- Do you go down to FL for spring training by chance?
  • lol guru, i guess i dont have to ask "what are you wearing?' lol

i havent gone to FL for spring training, but I should since my aunt and uncle have a house in sarasota.....and the winters/early spring in new england are icky.
  • Man, I'm just really bummed about this game. Oh well. Spring training trip looks expensive. That's why I asked if you had ever been before.

So I figured I'd share in this thread too since I too bit. I only purchased one. The gum was the best thing I got from the box, but hey, other than the "Eight Men Out" crap, I enjoyed the rips.

The 1986 Sportflics is a "Tri-Star" featuring Nolan Ryan, Fernando Valenzuela, and Dwight Gooden.

The Ripken Topps sticker is actually kind of cool.

The Maddux is actually extremely grade worthy, so I'm thinking about it despite the lack of desirability of the card. One of those nearly guaranteed 10s that's hard to pass up.

Looks like a fun box to open up. It's always cool pulling a HOFer out of a pack no matter what pack it's coming from.

It has nothing to do with being "uptight" or "prudish". If you want to understand, read Matt 5:28.
  • I bought 3 boxes and did manage to pull a Mattinlgy Topps rookie.. Has a small scartch on the surface though.
  • give credit where credit is due..someone figured out a way to make money off useless 80's packs...

well done walmart...that may be their biggest profit margin in the whold store!

right.....cause by looking at a nude female form, we have lust in our heart and are committing adultery. That is my laugh of the day.

That's why Christianity is different from every other religion. Christ deals with what's in your heart, not just external behavior. 1Cor 1:18

No way for $20, but I might be tempted to pick up a box for $5, with or without the unrealistic chance at getting the '52 Topps pack.
