I was watching a HD channel on the "Zoom" network....the show was called "collectors ????something"and they did a show on collecting cards and went through the "top twenty tips"
Some tips where stupid, like "collect hall of famers" "high number cards are more rare".....Steve Verkman of clean sweep auction was on it....he gave the #1 tip...collect cards from the 30 s and 40 s ...he thought the market was soft....my guess is that Steve has a overstock of 30s and 40s...
Anyone else see the show ?

edit: for those who have never been to a national - here's some video from the 2007 National.
YouTube is flooded with video on card rips and stuff - just google in sports cards or baseball cards and see what ya come up with.
