1908 German states Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach 2 marks

At first I thought this might be a nice AU piece for my type set until I saw the pics ...

image I don't understand the concern...seller seems to have represented the coin honestly - From the auction description:

.... AU, lightly cleaned. A couple tiny rim nicks...

  • I think Roman got the just of the "lightly cleaned" part ... it would have been nice to find an original uncleaned AU example, but this isn't one ...

  • Looks like a nice coin to me when you get one of that age you can expect some damage and I didn't notice that the cleaning hurt it to bad.

I wouldn't swear to it but I think I owned that coin a few years ago (I recall mine had a discoloration on the date and a few rim dings as well) I sold it when I got a replacement since what I thought was a PVC problem didn't clean up with acetone. Maybe someone cleaned it with a baking soda rub down after I sold it. The reverse doesn't seem to bad, which was the same with the one I owned. The obverse was a filmy green but the reverse was not to bad. If it is the same one, it is listed for less than I got for it back in 2004.
