Well, you could say the letter is sports related, since Rush worked for the Kansas City Royals back in the late 1970s-early 1980s.

Shhh! We're not supposed to talk about that - like it never happened. That was supposed to have been swept under the rug. The sad fact is I bet most of the board members don't even know about that or are too young to even remember.

aint that the truth lol-swept that off real quick!

Point- this was posted in the wrong thread. I am being nice here- it belongs in a political thread, but not here. Even though I do not agree with RUBE 100% I respect his opinion because he served. And he is a "real American hero" to boot. metalmike out.

Maybe Upper Deck is bidding on this letter to make a set of senator cut signature cards. Just think of the 1/1 Ted Kennedy dry suit signature card.

I am sick and tired of people saying because you have not served in the military prevents you from commenting on military matters. So, if you have never been president, can you comment on what the president does? If you have never been on welfare, do you have the right to comment on anything regarding welfare?

Any citizen of this country who pays taxes that fund the military have a right to comment on anything their dollars fund. Rush has never served, but he has the highest regard for those that do. That places him a lot higher in my book than those who are protected by the freedom our military provides, yet continue to undermine their efforts. Just look at all of the schools that won't allow ROTC on campus. Yet, these same establishments are the first ones to line up to the trough for federal aid.
To all those who serve and are currently serving - God Bless and thanks!!!!

Now back to sports card related talk.

Just before anyone fires back, I served in the United States Navy, but did not serve in any war. So, I guess that does not give me the right to comment on any war related matters.

I'm just 32 years old, but I know about it. I think he should be in just, much less out of the Senate. I can't believe people still vote for him (hiccup).

2 million for this? Must be a few trial lawyers bidding who through their extorting money through the legal system have a license to print money anyway.

I bet Mary Jo Kopechne's family doesn't think it's that funny.

Winning bidder was Betty Casey of the Eugune B. Casey Foundation. She has given 10's of millions away to all sorts of causes. Rush must be making some pretty good bank these days to match this donation. Funny, Harry Reid was trying to take credit for this on the floor of the Senate this morning. What a schmoe!!

The Ted Kennedy thing.... is that the Moxley case involving a Michael Skakel?

This is a classic example of why national polls reveal an 11% approval rating of Congress. Not only did these 41 Senators waste tax payer's money on this politically motivated attempt to silence their biggest critic, but they obviously didn't even read the transcript of what Limbaugh was talking about when he used the phrase "phony solders".
  • im fairly certain that all 100 Senators waste our money.

    No.

Just to recount. So everybody knows including our friends on the right who commented here but got the story wrong.

    Just a few factual inaccuracies

It happened in Massachusetts not NY - Chappaquidick Island off of Martha's Vineyard.

I think it was 1969 - Kennedy was driving Marry Jo Kopechne to a hotel after a party LOL and the car veered off a bridge and into a lake or something.

Kennedy got out and said he tried valiantly to save Kopechne and dove down time after time not being able to reach her.

He walked back to wherever the party was and didn't call the police for 12 or 14 hours.

He was charged with something like leaving the scene of the accident and I don't remember what happened to him.

I think I remember that there were rumors they were involved and she worked for Bobby Kennedy.

You always see the arvchival footage of him with a neck collar on and he is seen shedding crocodile tears.

I am a Democrat from Beantown but I make no excuses for Ted Kennedy or any of the Kennedy's indiscretions or criminal behavior.

Remember Joseph P. Kennedy was a bootlegger and quite the womanizer in his time.

The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

    Just tell the truth.
