well I had some paypal stored and I was going to try and take out the card I needed most for my 69 Topps set. Typically travelingyaz and lineupguru are the ones that push the prices on all of the stars, and SP commons of this set out of the stratosphere, but this time it was a couple of other guys. I expected Fabfrank to come strong since I talked to him recently and I knew he needed it for his set... but this luck-to-win guy has more $$$ than sense.

so I decided to say screw it and take my chances with submitting one raw
maybe I will get lucky
with my luck it will come back trimmed though, too hard to tell from the picture.
by the way the SMR (Sports Market Report) lists the 69 Butkus in PSA 8 as $100.00

typically I never complain about what something sells for, but I held out for this card and passed on several other ones that ended earlier in the week that I needed that do not pop up as often hoping to grab this one. I just need to go big or go home next time.

I rarely buy ungraded vintage via eBay because it is too hard to see the condition, or to trust the seller's judgement, but I figured it was worth a shot and the cards do look nice even though the pics are small.
