Cool Type Set - Spanish Empire

You gotta love this. In trade for the German States klippe I recently traded to LM, I received a nice coin that actually filled a slot I didn't realize I had... This is one heck of a type set. I think Chile and possibly Columbia will finish the set. Those two are the hardest mints to find, I've seen only a select few Columbian pieces, and they are usually pretty pricey. Chile is easier, but still hard to find and expensive to boot... enough babbling - check out the Carloses! (or is it Carlosi)

Very cool set, Ricke! image Great idea of getting an example of as many mints as you can. Are you only concentrating on Carolus's IV reign?
  • Nah - I scatter. As far as spanish colonial coins go, I actually lean more often toward the pillar type, but when I added this one to my collection, I realized I had a string. It just turned out that of my better grade examples, all were from different mints.

My collection focus as a whole is a world type set of quarter or quarter sized minors of this general era.

...I have a long way to go.

Very Nice Spanish (Seville?) 2 Reale. I also like the one from Peru. The problem is that you don't see the ones from spain very often and they command a higher premium than the rest.
