I think Dimeman is the sleazeball and Stooge is getting slimed unfairly, and I have a solution ...

Dimeman's thread portraying Stooge as a sleazeball offends my sense of justice, and is a problem in search of a solution:

I'm not a frequent contributor to this board, but I am a Roosie collector, with a pretty fair collection, and

1. I can vouch that Mr. Wondercoin is right when he says, there's no such thing as a sure upgrade in the Roosies, especially for the full bands. PCGS is erratic to say the least, sometimes kicking out coins that to me are clear full bands, and other times, giving the designation to coins that in my opinion don't deserve it.

2. Furthermore, Stooge told dimeman he (Stooge) thought the coin in question was a Full Bander before it was even sent in to PCGS. And then having disclosed his opinion, sent Dimeman, a check for the coin. And Dimeman, knowing Stooge believed the coin was full band and could/would eventually get the full band designation, cashed the checkerootie.

3. So to me, Stooge, whom I don't know and with whom I've never done business, has done nothing wrong. There was no deceit on his part. He acted honorably. Over and out.

4. The corollary to this is that Stooge is getting slimed unfairly. Anyone who opens up the Set Regisitry Forum sees in neon lights, "I think I have been ripped off by Stooge."

5. This bugs me. To me, it's an injustice. The way I read the situation, Dimeman is refusing to take responsibility for his own error and instead smearing -- out of petty, personal pique -- someone who has dealt openly and fairly with him. And Dimeman wins every day the thread continues on the front page of this forum, since his title portrays stooge as a scumbag to everyone who comes to this forum. Doesn't this bug anyone else, like it does me?

6. My simple solution, Mr. Dimeman, is that I will pay you -- out of my own pocket -- the $150 Stooge at one time offered. I know that settles your complaint, since you accepted the offer (though after Stooge had dug in his heels and withdrew it). Send me your address either by pm or on this thread. Within 24 hours, I'll have a check drawn to you,for $150, winging its way to you in the mail. It will be coming from Thailand though, so you'll have to be patient.

7. And the rest of you who agree with me -- which, from my reading of the original thread includes almost everyone -- just drop off Dimeman's thread and let it die. That way, Dimeman doesn't get to unfairly portray Stooge as a scumbag every time someone comes to this Forum.

Then I will go back to sleep in Thailand where...

Absolutely on target. I couldn't have said it better. Well maybe if I left out the derogatory comments, but still a great post and hopefully an end to a very discouraging thread to say the least. image

    JHF,

I have the highest regards for you and you Registry Sets.

Now, I have never used the word slimeball towards Paul and most but not all have taken his side not mine. I used the word ripped in the title and that is STILL how I feel about it.

It is NOT me keeping the thread on the first page. If you will notice there have been almost 20 posts since I posted and said is was my last. I have kept my word. It is NOT me keeping it going!

As for the money it is Paul who owes me NOT you, but thanks anyway.

I have never attacked Paul personally, but feel he did rip me on the transaction. Nothing will change my mind on that. I don't feel I have lost a friend at all. If he was a friend he would not have done what he did.

    Thanks again, Jon

And you can't just let it go can you. Do you not remember what you said in the other thread? Here let me paste it for you:

This IS my LAST post on this period.

To me, this is my last post on this means DROP IT ALREADY! No one cares about what you think. You asked us all for our opinion. We said you were wrong nicely. You turned it into a flame fest and you got burnt. You have been offered the $150 by 3 different people and won't take it but you continue your incessant noise.

    Just LET IT GO DIMESLIME!!

I'd take the 3 offers at $150 (ie $450) and be quite content.

    Case solved.

Personally I detest all these bribes to Dimeman.
If you truely believe Stooge has done nothing wrong we should just let it die.
The precedent of paying someone to drop a dispute between that member and another is not what should be offered, IMO.
Heck, wouldn't that just encourage others to post every petty dispute & misunderstanding with hopes of getting some $$ from someody?

Believe me I know, my insurance just finished paying $5000 for NO OTHER REASON than being a neighbor of 2 fueding neighbors!

We should state our case, using facts and maybe a bit of our opinion.
But doing so with respect to all parties.
Responding if nessary, then moving on.

    Easier said than done.

I haven't even opened the thread nor read much more than the first post in this one.

My guess is neither of these guys is a sleazeball. I have a lot of respect for Stooge and
I know Dimeman knows his stuff and makes good posts usually.

I should just stay out of it but I will comment just to say both parties can be wrong and
both parties can be right in a disagreement. Airing dirty laundry in public, though, is gen-
erally wrong. Perhaps they're both mostly right and a little wrong. Agreement can be ar-
rived at if both parties work at it.

    I second mas3387 nomination of cladking's suggestion.

The difference is I know that neither of these good guys are sleazeballs.

I hope the two of you work it out.

Ok, mas3387 and cladking----- get to work. LOL.

Although well said, I would suggest you read the thread that started this before making such general comments.
I would not classify either as slimeballs, sleazeballs or any other derogatory name.
I would agree that both parties can be (equally) right/wrong in a disagreement.
Airing dirty laundry in public is generally wrong, but sometime we think this is the only option. Usually when we think we're right.
I would not agree that both are mostly right & a little wrong in this situation.
I think 1 is mostly right & the other a little right.
An agreement could have been arrived in this situation if both parties worked at it.
Looks like 1 party was willing to meet half way, while the other wasn't.

    That's how I see it.

Wow you can spell so well and use such polite language. Just remember that this was all your doing. I have been putting up with you bashing the coins I collect for months and months. Talking about how worthless they are. Then I see you get your panties all in a bunch over a modern "trash" coin!! Then you burn your fellow collector and friend over a $200 deal. So I am afraid that you sir are the jerk.

Have a good day Mr. Dimeslime!!!image

Yup that is the way I see it as well. Heck I will even name names. I'm tired of this garbage. I believe Dimeslime to be completely in the wrong and what's worse a tasteless person. Stooge has tried to work things out and basically has been treated with nothing but disrespect by dimeslime. That is my general consensus.
