My latest order from BBCE; ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!? The 1983-91 Topps set party!! =)

Well guys, I FINALLY was given the chance to get an early jump start on my Christmas this year (in fact, by tradition, we start Christmas decorating when baseball playoffs start; I mean all the retaliers do it, why shouldn't we?) and for just under four little C-notes, I purchased these goodies from our hero Steve at BBCE:

1983 Topps Football Complete Set
1984 Topps Football Complete Set
1985 Topps Football Complete Set
1986 Topps Football Complete Set
1987 Topps Football Complete Set
1988 Topps Football Complete Set
1989 Topps Football Complete Set
1990 Topps Football Complete Set
1991 Topps Football Complete Factory Set

I know you guys must think I'm a boring collector for not trying my luck at the unopened stuff but all of you know I'm a set run builder first. I'd also like to get the 1992 and 1993 sets as well but I didn't want to pay double the set price for the 1992 factory set. So hopefully a nice 1992 set (with the update set) will turn up. And I even have planned how to put these sets in the binders (my main goal is to get 1980-1999):

1983 (1-396) + 1984 (1-396) = 792 cards
1985 (1-396) + 1986 (1-396) = 792 cards
1987 (1-396) + 1988 (1-396) = 792 cards
1989 (1-396) + 1990 (1-396) = 792 cards
1990 (397-528) + 1991 (1-660) = 792 cards

FUTURE:
1980 (1-528) + 1981 (1-264) = 792 cards
1981 (265-528) + 1982 (1-528 = 792 cards
(same concept applies for 1977-79 and if I'm REALLY lucky at some point, 1974-76)

1992 can easily fit in one binder at 759 cards!
1993 onwards I haven't quite finalized yet though.

You guys want to see some scans once I get the sets? I promise I'll do both sides. I just hope he known as much for his sets as his unopened material if you get my drift.

Congrats Estil!!!! Those are some nice sets, especially 1984-1986.

It sounds like you have a good plan for putting your sets in pages and binders. It will save you some space.

I know very little about football cards but couldnt pass on a box of 89 Topps wax. Anything decent in that set? I am debating on ripping or storing for a rainy day.

BTW, it just so happened I placed this order right before our upset of #1 LSU yesterday. I guess I picked a good time to start my Topps football set quest in light of Kentucky's magical football season.

What years did Topps do their 1000 yard club insert sets? I think the first year was 1986.
What years did Topps do their Football Sticker albums, like they did for baseball 1981-90?
And did Topps do those glossy All-Star, Rookies, Send-In sets for football like they did for baseball in the 1980s?

I can't wait to get these sets; I hope Steve is just as great with hand collated sets as he is with unopened stuff!

1986 - 1992. All of which are easily had and very affordable.

1982 - 1988. Cool oddball items and cheap... high book for a 1984 Elway or Marino rookie sticker? 6.00.

Yup. 1984 Topps Glossy Send Ins. I always liked this set... again, very plentiful and inexpensive too.

Also, in what years did Topps include Super Bowl and AFC/NFC Championship Game cards? And did Topps ever do seperate "All Pro" subsets or where those always labeled on the players' standard issue cards?

Well, I got the sets a couple days go but unfortunatley I had to send some back to be replaced as they were not quite as sharp as the others. But hopefully once I get the replacements and everything is in "ship shape" so to speak, I might treat you all to some scans if you're interested.
