Has this ever happened to you on eBay?

I received a message via e-mail that said "this license is not valid, please respond or I will report you". The item number doesn't match any of my recent sales, and is only 9 numbers long. To respond via e-mail, I need to log into eBay, which I don't want to do. It did not show up on My Messages on eBay. Everything else does look real though.

    It's obviously a spoof. Report it to ebay of just delete it.

    I have been getting a similar email saying "I will be leaving negative feedback if you dont reply".

    It also had a false item number

    I'm not sure. I thought maybe a PSA cert number. At first I thought it was for a Teletubbies Po Halloween costume my wife is selling. I thought we were busted!image

    Anything that doesn't appear on you rebay account messages is not real......do not even answer and try to mark as spam.
    You have to either not pay your ebay bill or commite murder to get kicked off ebay.

    I get at least one of those a day... like someone else said, if it does not show up under My Messages on eBay, don't even bother taking a second look at it... it's some bad mojo.

    I got a spoof eBay main today, said they want to make me a Power Seller, just click here, which takes me to
    some other web site. I saved the .html, traced down the guy who sent it, and sent it back to him thanking
    him for the eBay spam. Guy had a AOL account email. Was a nice looking spoof ad.

    The problem is though once you open up their e-mail, their program can read that their HTML is downloading on your computer meaning you opened the e-mail. A "cream" list for these scammers are those who at least open up their e-mails...meaning the chances are better you'll then get even more. So don't even open up these scam e-mails and you definitely should never reply to them. Unless I guess if it's like a free Yahoo or Hotmail address you have that you don't really care about and can easily stop using or delete...then you might as well fire back at these vermin.
