My Jefferson set is now complete!

I finally filled all the vacant slots in the Jefferson set.I think this set is harder than the Barber Half set(but still cheaper).

I have been at FUN two days and have not found a single upgrade. Jefferson full steps are tough.

I wish I could have completed the set with the same flurish as Stockford but I'm not even close. Thanks to some beautiful coins from O'Brien's set I did make it into the top five current sets.

Now comes the long upgrading process--I love it.image

  • Congratulations Bill. Those Jeffersons are hard to find. I know that it took me a long time to get one in 67FS for my MS Modern set and that I lucked into a 43-D in the same grade a long time ago at Heritage. Good luck finding those pieces, you have a lot of competition.

Wow, that's quite an impressive set of registry sets. PCGS should do a conglomerate set, where your rank on each set is entered.

  • Congratulations Bill!!!

You've got a GREAT set going and I'm sure you'll prove stiff competition for coins that come available for your upgrades.

I haven't had time yet to check out the photos of your type set, but it's on my to-do list!

I know how you feel. It feels great to complete a set most collectors never complete a full set. Now comes the real slow process of upgrading, and believe me I know how that is, tough in this series!!
Good luck in upgrading and catching the number two spot. You have a really nice set.
You do have quite an impressive number of registry sets listed!!!!!

  • Thanks for all the comments. After the third day at FUN I still never found FS nicks I could afford -- they were all big bucks. I did buy some killer Washingtons. And, bought a great 1804 quarter in VF25 and a 1804 $2.5 in AU58 for my type set.

A small group of board members had lunch together and had a nice visit.

I talked to Rick M. at PCGS and I'm comfortable they are definitely paying attention to the registry.

I also bought a date run of MS67FB Mercs. A new registry set? Maybe.

Job well done. Very nice set. I too find FS nickels hard to acquire, especially at reasonable prices and without distracting dull toning.
