Anyone knows anything about this Canadian "pattern"?

The auctioneer is in Great Britain and have never seen this Canadian "pattern" before. It's also not listed in Charlton and I can't look-up Spink sale mentioned in the auction description, since Spink doesn't store that much of historic data:

I have a 1901 Irish "four shilling" fantasy piece of this ilk. Neat piece, and I didn't mind buying it for what it is- a fantasy- but too many people have been snookered by the "pattern" hype on these, and they also clutter up keyword searching sometimes.
