ebay "visits" mystery

Ok, I have 14 cards for sale on ebay right now (under tri-cdeals). They are 5 day listings and I am about 1/2 way thru the listing time. I have a 1967 Topps #1 The Champs card in PSA 7 listed, right now it has 350 visits!!!!!! That seems very high for me, I figured it would go for about $15-$20 and have 25-30 people check it out. No bids yet either....could this be an ebay error? Just wondering...if not, heck I wish at least a couple of them would bid and not just look!

  • Auction spam whether indended or not. Two of the same card with the same grade sold on the 9th. One went for $21.50 with 142 views. The other went for $14.56 with only 27 views. Another sold on the 3rd for $16.00 with only 23 views. A few ongoing raw copies have few views. I'm guessing the auction counter is screwed up. Would be highly unusal to get an order of magnitude above average page views.

Yeah, something is screwed up. It is now 8:15 am and the total is now 409 hits!!!! Should be fun to see how high the counter will go with it.... I also forgot I put the starting bid at $19.99...I figured I would be happy with one bidder hitting that and maybe one more bringing it a little over $20.00...

I dont think it's a mystery at all. Many people looking for that card in high grade. Why no bids? Centering. They can buy that card in PSA 7 with that centering for about 12-14 dollars. If centered 50-50, you would easily have your 19.95 bid. The amount of view hits is no surprise at all.
  • Ebay counters are notorious for being wrong. I have had items end with 10 to12 bids and 4 or 5 watchers but the counter show no hits. List an item using Turbo Lister and immediatly check it . It will already have 3 to 10 hits, this will usually go up or down soon.
