Without looking at the coin under a loop or scope it looks OK to me as well. If you are able to examine the coin, look for the flow lines from a high pressure strike. This is something that is hard to explain but look at any circulating coin from the US mint under a 10X loop or scope and you will see small lines or streaks coming off any raised lettering or reliefs. Almost all counterfeits or altered date/mint coins are unable to duplicate this flow of metal under pressure. This is the easiest way of detecting bogus/altered coins in my book without sending the coin to a grading service. Once you see a fake or altered coin and compare it to a real one, the differences are startling and you will never have a doubt again.

I know what I want to say but in reading this I don't think I said it very well. MAGNIFY as much as possible and if it doesn't look right it, it probably isn't.

The name doesn't ring a bell, if he's a forum member.

The coin looks okay to me, though.

I've bought from this seller before without any issues. If he's a forum member - it's news to me image

Yeah, GlennC is a forum member, but I forget his forum name.
I've bought stuff from him before and was satisfied.

From the images it looks good to me. You didn’t say whether or not it was a florin or double florin? Looking at the pictures and the relation of the letters to the bust and the closeness of the numerals to the shield I would say it is a Florin.

    Florin specs:
1887-1892 "Jubilee head" Silver, 11.3 grams, 29.5mm Diameter.

I have been working on buying counterfeit coins and now have over 100. My goal is to take hi-res photos of them and build a counterfeit detection webpage that covers ancient to modern world coins.
