Has Anyone Ever Made Any Money Selling On Sportslots

Has anyone ever made any money selling on sportlots website? I have thousands of commons and you certainly can't make any money selling them on Ebay. Has anyone ever sold on Sportslots?

Please keep the replys to people who have actually sold something on it.

Thanks Jack

  • sportslots has a minimum listing price of $0.18 per card unless you are a "preferred seller", then you may list up to 3 sets at reduced prices depending on your average monthly sales. It takes at least 3 months to achieve this status, and then accounts are reviewed twice a year,(Jan & Jun). I know this because I have trying to get preferred seller status for awhile. May make it this Jan.

    My thoughts:
1 - it is not a good place to sell modern commons (remember, you have to charge at least 18 cents per card.
2- the nice thing about the priceing is: you can name your price and wait for a buyer, no time limit : this works well for off condition vintage (as long as your not in hurry to sell).
3 - I have best luck with ppl trying to complete modern insert sets.

    hope this helps

ive never heard of it,but im definatly going to check it out,i used to sell on sold.com, but ebay bought them and put it out of biz, imagine that,no yahoo auction anymore either!its hard to find anyplace anymore besides ebay-i think they bought everybody!i need someplace to dump 500,000+ commons mix of everything, havt begun to go thru em yet,i cant even sell a box of 660 cincy reds on ebay for 10 bucks lol-i though maybe the team strategy might work,it hasnt so far

  • Went over checked it out saw the anti-sniping policy and hit the back button.

Went back, I like the store set up and the auction set up aside from the stupid anti-sniping crap.

It started out good and then his fees went up and up and up. Then it was costing him money to list the cards on EBay and that was stopped. Now he wants you to sell higher priced cards otherwise you get hit with a higher fee. He takes about half of the money you make and makes you pay the PayPal fees.

sounds like a clunker to me then lol
  • Thanks for the input guys. I think I will try it with a couple of hundred .50 to 5.00 insert and semi-star cards and hold off on the cards under .50. Who knows. Even with the high percentages on low sale amounts and the $5 monthly fee it probably still comes out less than ebay or having an ebay store, not to mention the 70% that don't sell on ebay. Thanks again. Jack
