A piedmont baseball card coming out of mom's attic

What are the odds that mom collected "1906" piedmont cards?

a card coming from mom's attic

I guess it pays to dig around in the attic.

"AS MOST IOF YOU KNOW , IM NOT A SPORTS CARD COLLECTOR"

Although he does sell unopened GAI packs/boxes.

  • ...and he also uses at least two shills on his own auctions

mom was a heavy smoker back 101 years ago lol -has enuff cards and a american flag made of unopened sports packs, sure he dont know cards
  • Yupper.
And as msassin pointed out "AS MOST OF YOU KNOW , IM NOT A SPORTS CARD COLLECTOR", yet is able to describe in these auction titles:

1970 TOPPS FOOTBALL SERIES 1 WAX PACK GAI PERFECT 10 OM
THESE ARE THE RARE SERIES 1 PACKS CONTAING POSSIBLE OJ
    &
1979-80 TOPPS HOCKEY FULL WAX BOX N PACKS GAI GRADED 36
PSA 10 GRETZKY SOLD FOR $22,000 PORTFOLIO QUALITY WOW

I would feel better if his description was written by someone with 0 feedback holding a private auction...
  • I've dealt with this ebayer a couple of times. I believe he's a pretty much just a pack collector/seller. I can understand the comment he makes about his knowledge of sportscards being a pack collector myself. I'm quite impressed with the knowledge of some folks on this board with respect to cards and grading even if I don't fully appreciate the appeal (aside from my 1971 hockey set). I seldom open packs and when I do i flog the cards and wrapper as is or toss them into a box and forget about them as I devote very little display space for cards.
  • Someone here in Michigan just paid $50K for a T206 Honus Wagner that a guy pulled out of his ceiling. He still needs to get it authenticated though.

News report says he's putting it up for auction locally, though the report mentioned he also contacted national auction houses with the intent of authenticating/consigning it (wonder why he didn't go that route... it'd pay off more if it was real).

If that card isn't legit, somebody is in for some pain.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

  • I was thinking about bidding on maybe a few things he has......but it's funny, he knows packs, non sports, 87 Donruss Barry Bonds/Johnny Ray...but not T206.
