All (3) Sets of Submittial Numbers for the 2007 Platinum Series PCGS

Bookmark this!

Here they are folks, all IN one spot, no Treasure Hunt costing you time trying to sniff out the components needed to write up a 2007 Platinum PCGS Grading Submittal.

I swear for the life of me, why in the hell can't PCGS just list these? WHY NOT??? Why is such a simple thing made into such a pain in the ass??!

I can just imagine the numbers of potential grading jobs lost because a potential PCGS customer just don't want to hunt these down.

I've sent coins to NGC just because I will not leave a PCGS # blank on the form, nor will I waste my time trying to find it.

  • Ok, Silly me!

    You are right!

It is better that they keep everyone in the dark and/or allow additional submittials to go to NGC, where it is a hell of a lot easier to do so!

Plus, it is ALWAYS better to frustrate everyone on the PCGS site that just wants a simple POP count of current Coins!

Why just minutes ago, Goldbully in another thread wanted a $100 2007 W Unc Platinum First Strike POP so he could compare it to the $100 2006 W Unc Platinum First Strike POP.

Let's Hope he doesn't use those numbers posted above!

Perhaps by him not looking here at this thread, we can get his blood pressure to rise and get him to hate PCGS a just little bit more than he already does because he can NEVER find a current PCGS# on the PCGS website without wasting 15 minutes of his life doing so!!image

Sounds a little extreme. I never put the new PCGS numbers on my submission sheet unless I know I already have it in a set and I can easily access it. Why PCGS does not publish those numbers I don't know. Maybe so they have justification to delay your submission if need be since incomplete forms are subject to delay. To date, I don't think I have seen any problems not having access to the numbers but I am grateful that you made them available. I've already saved your post.

As for pops for current year coins, I'm don't think they have any real value unless you are really looking for the early sale and in that case no one knows so you might even have the only grade 70 so I think you would still maintain a price advantage. I agree they should be readily available since PCGS knows how many they have graded. At least they are a lot better than the friggin US Mint. image

like i said before, if its new issue i just send it in without a #, as far as pops, comparing 06 and 07-w`s is a waste of time at best, compare pops in 6-12 months, sorry if truth hurts

Griv, I'll give you an example:

This morning before FBL posted it, I saw that the Mint had shut down Buff Sales. Now I Know that planned mintage this year is only going to be 200K, down 1/3 from 2006's 300K.

    Great, I say.

Then I think...'I know it was big balls to get a 2006 W Buffalo PR70 DCAM PCGS First Strike.. and they were up near $2,200 when sales shut off for the 2006'

Whelp...I say what are the 2007 W Buffalo PR70 DCAM PCGS First Strike.. at?? I check EBay...No 2006 W Buffalo PR70 DCAM PCGS First Strike.. for sale...Great, they are still tight!

Now, what are the POPs? ...Well, I am screwed, sure they have the 2006 MS Pops and the 2007 MS FS Pop, they have the blue Label 2006 W Pop, but of course...NO 2006 W PR DCAM FS POP!!

I know if I dig around on the Registry Site and opps you don't Publish your Registry, Griv...so now I have to find someone else ....takes 10 minutes!

NOW, I want to see the 2007 W PR DCAM Pop, because after all, Time's up, so the initial POP will be a great gauge to move on the Auction for a FS I spotted.

LONG story short, PCGS's Treasure Hunt cost me 20-30 minutes. My Blood Pressure was up, I was pissed that something so simple can not be readily found!!!

ALL I WANT TO DO IS A QUICK pop CHECK SO I CAN BUY A FS PCGS COIN ON EBAY WITH SOME COMFORT LEVEL!!

Why do I insist on doing that to myself? Better yet, why does PCGS do it to us??!!

There is not any quantum physics involved here, only freakn'common sense!!...Remember the Treasure Hunt over the 2006 W Unc ASE MS70 POP?!

Why can't we have all of the 2007 PCGS #'s on hand on a web page?? BOTH for Submittals & POP counts??

Whelp, THAT'S MY RANT for tonight!

Geez, this is the first time I have heard not publishing my sets has caused someone heartache. Sorry Coinboy, I assure you it was not intentional but rather to keep the market honest. image

I can appreciate your high stress evening but to be honest with you, we all do that. That's why we collect these questionable pieces of metal with such passion. I would say that pop is only one factor since you have to also consider the collector base. If you just take the number of PCGS sets by type, out of 28,297 US sets there are 2,445 Modern Eagle sets plus the 4 "Complete" sets for a total of 2,449 or 8.65% of all US registered PCGS sets, and this with a very brief history of only but 21 years. So my point is that if a coin is a pop 5 or pop 20 but there are 10 or 100 times more people looking for that very coin then you have to consider the value from that perspective. Basic supply and demand.

    Cheers
    Griv
  • Still Griv, with all that said and done, how about a web page with the freakn'n PCGS#?
