Found in Chimney

Today I was gutting all of the original ceramic tile liner section from a chimney in Brooklyn , what I do is drill out one 2 foot section at a time and let it come crashing into the basement .

About 6 sections in , I see all this paper debris comming down , so I use a mirror to look up the chimney and a newspaper is stuck on my drill bit , so i gently pull the rods down and it is a newspaper from 1956, I look at it a little bit looking for some scores of a game and there weren't any scores but it did have the local averages of the players locally , Mickey Mantle was battin 378 at the time , I'll post a scan of the paper but you might have to magnify it to see the area I am refering to .

I was so excited to find this , to go back in time for a few minutes , it really made an otherwise cruddy day a little bit better for a while , until I had to put it down and go back to work .

One day I know I'm gonna hit the big time !!

I know I will

Very cool! I love things like that. I've been in the process of moving for awhile. I had been staying in a 1840's farm house, and while checking the attic for the final move last week, I found this...

Yes sir Mr. BunchoBull, that is a cool look into the passed .

A cool find too , is that book dated anywhere ?

Inside the newspapaer it had ads for new cars , 1955 and 1956 chevy's were goin from 997 bucks , to 1200 bucks !

I was stunned to see that .

I was also stunned to see homes on long island going for 8 grand !!

8 thousand dollars for a new house !!!!

Just amazing to look back like that , Nothing as far as value at all but just something I figured a few might enjoy as well

It is actually on the bottom of the title page in the picture. 1843 printers date. It has a hand written inscription on the binding dated 1850.
