Looks like a contemporary circulating counterfeit. Probably lead and had a silver plating at one time.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Would it matter about this coin. It is practilly destroyed. Even if it was an 01-S, no grading company would even make past the first step. As for a album filler, maybe. I vote for UGLY coin of the week.

I was wondering the same thing. That would make it pretty cool, especially if it's a contemporary counterfeit of a key date.
<< <i> Why (it looks to have been harshly cleaned, but that doesn't make it counterfeit)? >>
You're kidding?.......Right???
<< <i>See the X? I'll bet it was struck from retired dies. Very Rare. >>
I hope you're joking. If you were correct, the 'x' would be raised, not incuse.
<< <i>I think the X's were put there more than likely to mark it as counterfeit, good try at a bull**t story. >>
Ya, and the long stupid rambling story surely marks it as counterfeit.

would't it be crazy if someone here actually was the owner, that marked the coin......

A worthless wreck for sure.
