Anybody read this tidbit from the SGS website

News:
On April 10, 2007, Star Grading Services was requested to submit a proposal for
exclusive grading services for the American Numismatic Association. While we do
not currently have the resources to do this, we viewed the request as a wonderful
recognition of our growing popularity and market acceptance.
An Independent Study has recently found that SGS currently accounts for
7% of all Graded Coins sold on the internet auction site eBay.

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

SGS....whatta tool!
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Considering how the ANA has conducted its business over the years SGS may fit right in.

You mean the policy that gets me many SGS MS70s when I search on SGS in the eBay coin auctions?

No doubt they would be the official grading service, and if they offered enough free grading for certain people, they could probably pick up another "official" grading company status.
This is horrible, this can't happen, this is apocalyptic. Is this the end of human existance?
But I wonder if SGS is adjusting their grading toward at least a passing semblence of reality?
The new holder looked pretty good, too, until I found it is still a clam shell that opens easily, even with my aging fingers.
Oh, yes, their shipping charge has come down toward OK and they no longer ship in those insane heavy-coardboard over-sized envelopes.

You betcha. And all of the penguins in Antarctica are now taking classical guitar lessons.
Buying top quality Seated Dimes in Gem BU and Proof.
Buying great coins - monster eye appeal only.
Or are they currently getting a pass from ebay for the time being or what? Some of there products he slips through and mentions the grade in title other not, but you can clearly see the grade on the photo, but again I think another problem he doesn't have photos of the reverses on most coins if not all.
I especially like to beat on his expensive crap and than his crap ending soon.
Are they still fair game to report? Or is it a waste of my time. I hammered fifty the past hour.
I can't imagine it's a waste of your time, phillymatt.
Your time can't be worth much if this is all you have to do.

The people involved in the scams that these coins are used in, belong behind bars. You know who you are and so does somebody else at this point.

Hi Ray, like I said I spent an hour this afternoon whacking at them, with 8500+ posts you must really have a lot of time on your hands.
I was asking, only because I didn't know if they (SGS) had filed lawsuits like some other companies(Canadians).
Ebay seems to have some type of hands-off policy with SGS or something because they just continue to flaunt the rules.
I thought that maybe an expert like yourself, who spends a lot of time online here and knows the biz would maybe help me out with an answer that doesn't come off so hostile to help out another person and not let them waste their worthless time
But, if they are so illegitimate as most opinions here say they are, than the hour was worth it if ebay takes action against them.

I would have to agree!!
Love to chat but I have to go hammer SGS again, just found some more free time and I think this is about my 108 posting, going for 8,000 Woohoo!!
