'78-S "LONG NOCK" MORGAN

From the positioning of the "S" mintmark, this does not appear to be either the VAM 26 or 27. The 4th edition doesn't list any of the other reported 3 die pairs of this particular variety. Anyone familiar with this particular VAM? The coin is pretty beat up and there aren't too many other distinguishing features besides the mintmark placement.

<< <i>VAM 60? Does it have any eye spikes? Cool cherry! >>
I'll go look. It's hard to see anything but an outline on the thing though.
So...you don't think I overpaid at $15.00?

<< <i>For a hair over melt, she's great.
Thanks. I got really excited when I saw it. My first one.
<< <i>I compared your photos against the 60 and the 56, and felt that the mm position was more in line with the 60. The S on yours is tucked up in the wreath more closely than is the S on the VAM 56. But heck, compare for yourself. >>
Thanks for the link. I'm afraid I'm still at a loss. I agree with what you said about mm positioning, the 60 is the closest. There doesn't seem to be the extra metal above the feather and the eye spikes on the obverse don't match. It's tough with such a worn coin.

Here's a 56. I think the MM alignment is similar - pushed to the left.
